The VitaFilta replaceable water filters use organic activated carbon and ion exchange resin. Our replacement filters are tested and certified to remove or significantly reduce known contaminants, pesticides and heavy metals commonly found in municipal tap water, including lead and chromium. The filters remove about 99% of Chlorine. The water will not necessarily give a low TDS (Total dissolved solids) reading as activated carbon does not reduce important minerals such as Potassium and Magnesium. These minerals are not retained in purified water, reverse osmosis systems or plastic bottled water products. VitaFilta softens your drinking water while reducing Chlorine to enhance taste and odor.

VitaFilta filters generally last for 100-130 gallons depending on the water source. It is recommended that water filters are replaced at least once every quarter. For those that drink a lot of water, we recommend replacing filters every 1-2 months.
